Some may come, and some may go, but the overwhelming community support for “The FREE Essence.Com Community Story” has come a long way since January 21, 2009. We were encouraged and inspired to create characters that represented our neighbors, our family, co-workers, total strangers, and yes, characters based on you and I.

Because you rooted for the residents of “Hope House”; Trish and Hunter; Leah and Monica; Bren and Grey; Jai and Carlotta; and Sabrina, the 9 chapters posted thus far, has made its way to the Most Popular Blog. You wanted each of these characters to find: self-love and appreciation; the love and respect of another; and a chance to prove their worth. You cheered when each of them recognized their purpose and place in the world, and when they didn’t, you identified when they tried. The story has evoked happiness, laughter, anger and tears. It has evoked such a range of emotions, which is how we live and grow in our lives.

Even though some of the women in this story were victims of “Domestic Violence”, we chose to make this story more about resolve, empowerment, love, and finding one’s own way with the help of a strong sisterhood, and a spiritual connection with the Creator.

This “Community Story” that started with a Discussion, is one of Essence.Com Community's fastest growing blogs, has more than 400 contributions, with 20 men and women contributors. We have 5 exciting chapters left to post, which concludes our story, and we feel “Our story” has come to a place, where we are comfortable freeing our characters, to live in your hearts and imaginations. We hope you will allow this story to spark dialogue and ultimately change the way “Domestic Violence" is viewed, and treated.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the names of the contributors and my utmost gratitude for their collaboration. I personally want to thank them for taking time to breath life on the empty pages. To LaTreya Cross who dared to start off the story, 2morrowKnight, Cat, Cicely Levingston, Donna-Be-Blessed, Industry Buzzz, Jae, Joanne, LADY, LaKeyshia, Lee, Marla, Melissmo, monniej, Rock & Roll Baby, roylee47, and Sharon Johns, who helped give these characters a voice; to Malakia-Kali and *Truly Caribbean Woman who breathed life in these characters with their every word, and for the Most High who entrusted me with an idea that touched my very soul and touched the heart of so many.

We thank Essence.Com for providing the venue and the hundreds, if not thousands of online friends that keep us motivated. The entire story is slated for final editing and will be available as a FREE Essence.Com Community E-book. Special thanks to Love & Happiness, No Drama, ATL, Rock & Roll Baby, and 2morrowknight for your constant and unconditional support, motivation and great advice!

Peace, purpose, passion, promise and prosperity!

Chapters 10 & 11 will be posted Wednesday, March 4th.

*Truly Caribbean Woman's new book "Guide To Good Love" is now available on lulu books.

Hello how you doing? My name is Khalilah Jordan and I just self published my first book "Loyal To The Game" Check it out its hot. It's an urban street book about Shytayjah Johnson AKA Tayjah who is from the streets of New York. She is known for being beautiful and having a glamorous life until suddenly her life takes a twist. She falls in love with a big-time drug dealer named Jason from Harlem, who is known for being a killer. But when he is put in a coma and his right-hand man, Rob, is put in a grave, everyone becomes a target—including Tayjah. When Tayjah’s little sister, Neka, gets killed and her mother becomes a crackhead, Tayjah and her brother, Shytek, takes the streets in their own hands, leaving the streets of New York with shootouts and dead bodies. They will do any and every thing to find the person who murdered their sister. Their hunt is put on hold when both of them get arrested for murder because someone close to them is snitching on them. Betrayal, jealousy, greed, envy, love, and drama are knocking on the door. Who will keep the oath they made to the streets by staying loyal? Who will fall? Makes you want to read some more? If so you can check my book out at www.Xlibris.com, www.BN.com, www.Borders.com and www.Amazon.com. Also check my website out at www.khalilahjordan.org Make sure you tell a friend. I was so happy about president Elected Obama's wining. I gave an Election watch party. And interviewed all my guess and ask them what they thought and they gave there opinions and it was great. I knew all alone that Barack was going to win because the holy spirit had told me back in September and I sat back on my bed and smiled. It never enterd in my mind that he wouldn't win. I 've always know that we would have a black president when God got ready for it.God didn't say that only one race of men was going to be president, like any other race wasn't good enough. So I've always told my children that they could be anything they wanted to be, even president. So thank God for Barack, and thank God that we can have a hero for our children again.Seem like we had lost all of our hero's, but we really have one NOw, PRESIDENT ELECT BARACK OBAMA. Thank You father.

Hello. Is there an age limit on the Young Women's Leadership Conference? I ask because I know several young women who attended (younger than myself, I am in my mid-30s) and I'm wondering if the conference is geared towards a certain age group? If so, is there an effort to form a leadership conference for a mid-age range, for women who are not quite in their 20s anymore, but also not quite in their late 40's or 50's and up? If not, I would be happy to help create one and I have the perfect name! Please let me know how I can help. Perhaps there is a niche for those of us who are mid-career changers or just able to jumpstart our passions and purposes a little later in life as opposed to right out of college.
