Molecular Genetics of Emotions and Thought--a professional opinion

How could you hate yourself so much?

My bipolar disorder II causes me to have moderate highs and desperate lows. Lows are so low that I come often to a place of helplessness and hopelessness. When I had the intent to take an act so atrocious, suicide, I was told that I did not believe in God enough and that I had not been saved.
