About Me: Hello family. My name is Yolanda. I have always loved Essence Magazine and now that I can actually be a part of the Essence.com family, I'm too happy! A little about me; I am a photographer in Dallas, TX. I enjoy what I do tremendously. I definitely think God had it in his plans for me to become a photographer because it's in my spirit. My dream for years now, has been to do a photo shoot for Essence. I don't even care if all they want me to do is photograph a bottle of shampoo, I'll be happy to do it!!!!
I am also the proud single mom of an amazing 14 year-old son who seems to become more "man-ly" everyday. That voice is getting deeper daily and he swears by the 8 hairs above his lips, that he is a man. He calls it, "his man-stache"! He is a magnificent and blessed part of my life and I love being his moma!

He was born 3 days after my birthday and my First Grandson was born 3 days before my BDay :0). Almost ALL the males in my personal family group are within my Birthday... isn't that something.
I didn't intend to talk this long but.... I was an only child NOW I HAVE: 5 children, 27 1/2 Grands & 8 GreatGrands. WHEW!!!
