My first book "Who I Am not what I Am" has allowed me to go on many book tours around the mid-west and east coast. My second book, 100% Real, launches this year and I am excited to see where it takes me to meet my readers. I also have a networking group dedicated to professional African-American women called the "Black Women In Business Brainstorm".

- I have a degree in Journalism and Public Relations. I have been blessed to work in the field of Human Resources and Diversity and chaired a council to help people to embrace fair hiring practices. I had my first book published in April of 2008 "Who I Am Not what I Am", which is a book about self-esteem and diversity in a young girl, Janelle. This book is a fun and educating read for those who are elementary school level and below. My second book in the "Who I Am" series is 100% Real and the main character of this book is Zoey. She is new to her school and her family and this book addresses adoption and acceptance. My books can be purchased at Borders, Barnes & Noble,etc and signed copies can be purchased online at www.taramichener.com I have chaired a diversity roundtable in my community for local businesses to understand the impact of diversity and customer service. I also created the "Black Women In Business Brainstorm" to uplift and share resources, referrals, etc with African-American Women who seek a professional networking group. I enjoy traveling to schools, businesses and libraries for speaking engagements and/or signings or trainings in writing, self-esteem and/or diversity. www.taramichener.com
