Retired Educator Wins Award:
Dr. Joseph Howard, a retired special education teacher, has recently received a very prestigious award. He has written six books, one of which is "Battered Clergy; from Victim to Victor, which he wrote in 2006. This book was recently awarded the prize at the Novels to Films Feature Length Competition. The prize is that his book is being made into a full length feature film by Moopy Vision Movies and Infini Entertainment Company of Chicago, Illinois. Mrs. Ametra Self is co-directing this blockbuster event. The film is scheduled to debut in the fall of 2009 in several theaters in greater Chicago. This book was one of two books selected with well over one hundred entries. The casting call for the movie starts next week.
Dr. Joseph B. Howard, Sr. is a third generation steel worker and a retired post-secondary educator. He enjoyed writing as a child and later joined the United States Navy. He has a master's degree in Biblical Studies and a doctorate in Christian Education. Dr. Howard was honored for his work in the literary and ministry fields by the State of Arizona in February of 2008. Dr. Howard presently lives in Surprise. This book "Battered Clergy" also won the Power Award (Dayton, Ohio) for new inspirational literary piece. Dr. Howard was included in the 2005-2006 Edition of The Empire Registry (New York, New York) of Who is Who Among Business Executives and Professionals in the category of Religion.
