Coming from a legacy of preachers, Cheryl Lacey Donovan is walking in her destiny. Cheryl Lacey-Donovan is an acclaimed author, educator, and inspirational speaker and a compelling advocate for personal empowerment. Her first book "Women What the Hell are You Thinking: An Inspirational Guide to Becoming a Virtuous Woman of God was released on May 1, 2007 to rave reviews. "Women What the Hell are you Thinking" remained in Amazon's top 10 hot new releases during the entire first two months of its release.
Her new work The Ministry of Motherhood is destined for the bestseller list as it ministers to mothers who are living through what Cheryl has already overcome.
Cheryl believes in the Psalms 11:25 which says, She who refreshes others will herself be refreshed; therefore, she tries to be transparent as she speaks and writes about her valley to mountain experiences.
Cheryl’s internet radio talk show Worth More than Rubies reaches thousands of listeners each Saturday and has impacted women all across the nation. Her syndicated column of the same name can be found in both print and online magazines. She is also a regular contributor to several blogs including her own, “Worth More Than Rubies,” with blogspot.com. She has been a mentor for Christian Women Today for one year and is the founder of Imani Enterprises Unlimited a multi-divisional organization that produces talk shows for radio and television, CD's and DVD's, commercials and book trailers, as well as other inspirational media. Cheryl has been happily married for 14 years to her husband Keith and she has two adult sons and a stepdaughter. She is a member of the Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.
Cheryl Donovan's life is a true reflection of God's faithfulness. Mrs. Donovan encountered God at an early age. Yet, at the age of 17 she found herself in a constant struggle as a teenage mother. So, after a few years of trying to do things her way, she decided to place all of her trust in the fact that God could and would work miracles in her life. She was walking a tough road, but God was walking with her. Through the love and support of her family and friends, Mrs. Donovan was able to persevere.
"All of the women that I have advised over the years have similar stories; low self esteem, abusive relationships, poverty. I too have endured some of these same realities. I just felt like it was time to write a book that tells women that the situations that they are in don't have to be permanent. There is hope, but their choices must be different if they expect their circumstances to be different. Poor choices lead to poor circumstances. I want readers to comprehend the message that failure is not an option, especially when you have children. It is my hope that the life lessons and biblical references provided in "Women What the Hell are You Thinking" and The Ministry of Motherhood will show women of all ages and colors that failure is not an option in any aspects of their lives. Women have always been over comers but they must find it within themselves to persevere."
Mrs. Donovan hopes to affect the lives of women in a profound way. Her passion is fueled by the many life changes that have affected her over the years. Cheryl understands adversity and realizes that you can't keep life from happening, but the choices that you make can determine the circumstances that you find yourself in.
