- I have so many. I love knowledge. Anytime i am learning something new i'm excited. Looking so forward to the Essence Festival. What was sad for me this yr. like others is that so many african americans are so unwilling to spend their hard earned money for an event like this. When i told one of my girlfriends about this event, she was excited. I showed her all of the artists scheduled to perform on stage and also the speakers for the seminars, however; once i told her the price for the floor; because i will not be anywhere but on the floor, she like to fell to the floor. Stated "girl are you crazy." "i am not paying that much money for that." I didn't bother to say anything further. I get that response all of the time. I am from a small town in Louisiana and i cannot name but a few people that are actually going. I just don't get it. From a female perspective, i know these same women will be at the club tonight. They bought an outfit to go to the club. Their nails, hair done, gas money, etc. But to go to the Essence Festival is too much. Well i plan to take plenty of pics so they can drool. I recall writing to request that Tina Marie be a part of this event. I am sooooo excited that i will get to see her. Thanks fo much for this event in Louisiana. There are not many things that come our way unfortunately but i will look forward to July 4th every yr. Thanks Essence. Karen from Louisiana.

Thanks for the heads up I just sent over a message regarding the tickets. So funny I sent out a Craigslist add as well. There is a woman who is also trying to get rid of sets of tickets but she wants to sell them both to one person and I only need one ticket per night. I do not care about sitting next to my group at the EMF we are all family!!
I'll let you know what happens.
