As the economy turns from bad to worse several large retailers have declared bankruptcy. Circuit City, Linen-N-Things, and KB Toys are some of the big retailers that have closed their doors.
When these retailers hold highly publicized "liquidation", "going out of business" or "bankruptcy" sales, people clamor to the stores in search of great bargains.
Unfortunately, these sales are nothing more than a consumer trap. Here's why.

Thanks for your comment! So true--we are definitely smarter and more eco-aware than people think. The problem is very few media outlets (sadly, including Essence) are addressing the issue.
And most importantly, you are right--every little bit helps. According to the Sierra Club, if each of us reduced our overall carbon footprint by just 2% per year, by the year 2050 we could actually avoid the worst effects of global warming. Now that's something!
