I personally feel that if you feel so strongly about your work..self-publishing would be the way to go. Why wait for others to tell you that you're "good enough". I did it, and you can do it too!

Hi Jessica,

Great work. I think self publishing is the best right now until you get established. I have self published my book of poetry called Through My Eyes which is on my page and also available on amazon. It is very time consuming but if you really want to get your book out you have to do it. Also you can try local radio stations. Try having a book signing party that is also a good way to go about it. I hope it helps. Good Luck.

Hi Jessica
Have you thought about self publishing. It's hard work, but you can do. I have some contacts, and I'll be glad to pass this info on to you. Good luck, and I strongly suggest that you dont give up[

Dear Jessica,
You've done amazingly well to have finished 3 novels. My only advice is to find a agent that represents the same genre as you. for instance find a book that is simular to yours and email the author to find out who their agent is. Also I have heard that literary agents don't like to represent books that have already been publish via self-publishing. Have you had someone read over your query letter. I have a template that you could use that is specifically for novels. If you email me on ineedtoexhale@hotmail.co.uk. I will email it to you.

All the best with your writing, blessings.

Jessica, I read your excerpts, and you are a fabulous writer. You make the story come alive for the reader, and that is key. Your writing is outstanding, you just haven't found the right company with the vision and foresight to accept your work, but it is out there. Maybe I can help you do some research, if you like.

I'll be sure to check it out. In the meantime, don't get discouraged. You were able to submit yours. I'm so afraid until I haven't looked at my manuscript in weeks, I'm too afraid to continue working on it. You've finished your third one, that's an amazing accomplishment. What are ome publishing companies you've tried?

Hi everyone!! I need help. I self-published my first book, Confessions of a Diva--and ended up wasting money b/c I don't have the funds or the time to market my book by myself. I finished my 2nd manuscript, Pieces of a Broken Man, but after being rejected by literary agents FIFTY-TWO times, I just set the book aside. Now, I just finished my 3rd manuscript, The Long Way Home, about a week ago, and I've already received 3 rejection letters from literary agents. I know my writing is outstanding, so what am I doing wrong????? read my excerpt from The Long Way Home @ myspace.com/youngblackauthor_JNB and tell me what you think....
