Congratulations on a courageous commitment to life...and your son's memory.

Music helps my flow at times, while other times, silence. No internet. Making sure you take breaks to refresh and renew. Some outline...I just write. I don't try to do a certain amount of pages a day, nor number. I just write.

Hello Everyone,
I assume it's ok to tell you about what I'm writing these days so we can support one another. Well I just wrote an article about The Punany Poets who were in DC recently with their raunchy but real show. Check it out. Punany Poets: Deeper than sex and twice the fun

Hi All: I am a new author. I just released and published by First Book in 4/09 and so far the experience has been great. I did not self-published. I went through a publisher. I don't like the idea of self-publishing because you have to do everything yourself and when you don't have the best looking and critquing your hard work, then your finished book may not be of the best quality such as the editing may not be good. I do my own marketing myself, but I think in my opinion, you need to get your book done through a known publisher. I published with AuthorHouse and I had a wonderful experience. Yes, it's a little costly, but to me, well worth having a book that meet my vision and of the best quality and production. I am almost finished with the 2nd one, and thinking i would like to go with an agent. I wrote inspirational non-fiction books. Anyone know any good agents they can recommend?

Thanks Red, Nat. When I read, I read not only for entertainment from the story, but I read to get ideas on story lines and flow. It helps with details, like you said, Red. I envision my characters too, right down to looks, mannerisms, etc.

Muic does help me focus; thanks for the idea, Nat. That time frame is perfect too, because everybody's in bed and the house is quiet. And I love the idea about seeing the characters like they're in a movie. I am going to try all these tips, I'm sure they will help me a lot. Thanks so much, and I'll let you know how I come out.
