I wrote a poem that sums up pretty much what we all were thinking and will continue to do in my book and it's called President Obama

On Nov.4th 2008
History never looked so great
Obama won...standing tall
He rose to the top above them all
Our voices were heard each and everywhere
The lines were long but we still didn't care
We made a difference and the numbers were shown
Black, White, Asian and others never stood alone
Long awaited days and sleepless nights
Watching the news for the proposed fights
You've seen and heard the cries and the pleads
And our country you will lead
Because it is obvious that we are in need
The road is rough and it will not be easy
I'm sure some things even make you a bit queasy
But we will back you all the way
And follow you until the last day
Some may feel that this is a little strange
That's why we say "It's time for a change"
But through the all the jokes, snickering and fun
America has voted and the BEST MAN WON!!!

I was there at the inauguration with no feelings in my fingers or toes, but it was so worth it. After the event, I turned to my boyfriend and said though it was freezing cold, I cannot wait to do it all over again in 2012. So I'm proud to know I'm not the only one that has been claiming 8 years strong for President Obama.

You will definitely need to work hard on this one. The world was horrified, to say the least, that Americans voted Bush in for a second term. That was a very dark day for me and most Canadians, and we wondered where American intelligence had disappeared to. I will help all that I can but I do not have a vote in your country. All I can do is spread your word to my thousands of U.S. connections, some of which I work with. I can't imagine how much worse off the world will be if he doesn't do two terms.

I saw this article recently on my favorite site, THE HUFFINGTON POST, I figured I would share. It's awesome because it gives a complete breakdown of the states (all in the Deep South) that voted against Obama. I think its instructive as one thinks about how to get Obam re-elected. This is a wonderful idea and I am glad to be a part of it. I was in Washington, D.C. for his inauguration and it was a beautiful and heart filling experience. I have already been speaking with some co-workers about planning to take the trip in 2012 for his second term inaurguration!. It would be nice if we could have nice t-shirts made to support President Obama's 2012 election!

Yes count me in as well. I think that one of the things that we have to keep in mind is the work that each one of us have to do in helping President Obama in bringing change right in our own communities. Making sure that the accountability from our leaders are addressed.
