well....i would recommend the downtown area, french quarter area. If you are not familiar with New Orleans and have intention on driving while there, downtown area is the best, everything is in walking distance. Any hotels on Canal Street, Poydras, near the Superdome or French Quarter are the best bet. These unfortunately may be the more expensive ones.

Well Miss Nell can you tell me which part of the city is the best place to get a hotel in relation to the location of the different events. Any useful information will be greatly appreciated.

I will be there, as usual. I am originally from New Orleans and because of Katrina I am now residing in Houston, Texas. I have made the yearly trip every year since it has been back in New Orleans and I plan on doing it every year. I love it, it's the best time to go to New Orleans.....Can't wait to see you all there!

Michele I think if there was a cheaper way to get a hotel, we all would have found it by now lol.

My friends and I plan on going in 2009! We are so excited, since we are coming from upstate NY we of course want to get the best accomodations for the least amount of money! lol Any ideas from anyone who is a New Orleans native?
