LaKeyshia...you're right, there is no rush to make a movie, but it is being planned. Nothing is being shot next year, no script has been officially written, but the chatter seems to grow louder with each passing month.
Will Smith and Gabrielle Union are my choices because they have good acting ability, and, they both have the height - both are tall. The height issue, however, is what would disqualify Jeffrey Wright and Terrence Howard. Both are not tall men.
Tyra could play Michelle Obama I believe. Now, Michelle Obama has a dark-skinned complexion. So does Gabrielle Union, so that would be "exact" and perfect. However, just as a dark-skinned Denzel Washington portrayed a light-skinned Malcolm X in Spike Lee's movie, Tyra could play Mrs. Obama. Yes, Tyra's acting resume is quite thin, but she has passion, emotion, thoughtfulness, and a list of fine attributes she could easily pour into the role.

I would prefer two new actors. They should have a reality show where some unknown people actually audition and compete for the roles. In all honesty, I am tired of seeing Will Smith, Halle Berry and folks like them being casted in every single movie that calls for a black role. Its as if Hollywood is just recycling the same people over and over again, and I am tired of seeing them, as a lot of them are overrated. Show us some new faces already!

As much as I love, I mean absolutely love Will, I agree with you ZAJA . A reality show where they actually do auditions on a national and international level would be a blockbuster bananza. Now that's what I'm talking about, someone thinking , not just out of the box, but a new style and substance of the box.

Actually, in the case of Barack and Michelle, it might have to matter. The Obamas are both tall. Ike and Tina are shorter than 6 feet. I think the height issue could be overlooked, but if authenticity is what the fimmakers are looking for, the actors might have to be height-appropriate.

Kimberly Elise is breathtakingly beautiful, but once again, the issue for me is height. Ms. Elise is shorter than 6 feet. She's a great actor. She's a knockout. But the height issue disqualifies her. Maybe she could play someone like Valerie Jarrett, an Obama confidant, and one of his top advisers.

Angela Bassett is my favorite female actor. But I think the filmmakers may want to go for someone younger, like Gabrielle Union. Plus, how tall is Bassett? She may not have the height. But, yes, she should be considered.

Well since when we were following the Obama Campaign, long before we were sure and we were discussing it, we CLEARLY said - "Hmm, what if they had a movie about this election - Will Smith will DEFINITELY be Obama" because even if he did lose the election, it would still have been historical and a movie was still worth being made of it. I'm so happy he won though, so the movie will be going the full length to victory and beyond. Of course as Mrs. Michelle Obama - my girl Gabrielle Union hands down...... Oh yes indeed.
