President Obama Appointments

Is it me or is this just crazy, 4 of his appointment don’t pay taxes, while they are telling us Americans to foot this stimulus package bill? What’s up with this message, I don’t want to pay taxes either, but I have to or Uncle Sam will be after me real fast.

Permalink Reply by Lee on February 5, 2009 at 8:07am: I think the scrutiny his appointees have undergone has simply uncovered practices that are more widespread than we realize from those operating in the political arena. Imagine what would happen if everyone on Capitol Hill had to undergo the same type of scrutiny...we would learn all types of things about those we put into office. Wealthy individuals are always looking for ways to hold on to their money even if it means being dishonest....Look at Enron, Bank CEO's, The investor who swindled a ton of Jewish orginizations out of there money. Ever wondered why so many people have Swiss Bank accounts..look it up...you would be surprised to learn about the many tax shelters used by the wealthy to hide their actual worth. Another problem is that many people with large sums of money don't directly handle it themselves..they hire people who, may sometimes not be the most honest individuals. I am sure there are plenty more people on capitol hill with several skeletons in their closets.... as time progresses we will learn of many more crooked things happening on capitol hill...which is why we need to keep Obama in our prayers... because Im sure there are a lot of people that dont like all of this new found exposure...; ▶ Reply to This

And these appointments not paying taxes shouldn't be surprising and I am sure there are more that doing the same thing and getting away with it. They don't realize how being deceitful can hinder you later on in life when an opportunity such as this arises.

All the money they are going to manage is mind numbing and if they can’t handle their own money then...? Plus when is any this stimulus going to help folks like all of us? When you look at the package there is a bunch of fluff in there. We need to do something, but giving all that money to proven crooks is a bad idea. They should give it to Americans to spend and thus stimulate the economy, doing whatever they want with the money i.e.: buying cars (Auto industry) Vacations (Air line industry) paying of credit cards (Financial Industry). I would rather pay back money that I spent than money some money top CEO's are saying they are spending for us. Look at their companies now.....My apologies i'm venting.; ▶ Reply to This
