Everyone has a Michael Jackson memory....

What are some of your favorites? Do you remember trying to moonwalk for the first time, dancing to his song at a school dance? What's your favorite MJ memory?

Man in the Mirror, Never can say Goodbye. I think if anything, I could always relate to an MJ song. He is loved by so many because his music always made sense. You could feel his love, passion, frustrations, sadness, happiness....Anyone and everyone could relate. He'll live on through his music for a very long time to come. No doubt about that.

He captured me in the Wiz. I'm a BIG BIG fan of the Wiz. I still have the VHS tape (and occasionally watch it shhh). I LOOOOOOVE Mike in the Wiz, best part about the movie to me (tear).

Other favs is him and The King of Soul on the BET awards. It was such a great moment. I was a big fan of James Brown and to see the best together on stage doing it up was AMAZING!

I remember in elementary school, when HBO aired Mike's concert, man oh man the crowd was going bananas! I was at home actin a fool as if I was there.

I still can't believe it! So Imma be singing for awhile...NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE! Luv u Mike

I'm about to give my age away here, but when I was in high school, I was in the marching band. In 1993, we performed at Disney World in Orlando. One day while we were just enjoying the park, who else should also be there but MJ himself!!!!! He was with a huge entourage (of course) and the little boy that was part of the scandal at that time. I have an ACTUAL PHOTO of MJ from about 30 feet away!!!! I kid you not!!!!!

I don't know how I forgot to mention this yesterday, this whole death thing has my brain turning to mush. I think I'm still in denial....it's all so surreal.....

My memory is my uncle and his friends back in the day used to perform Thriller at the community center and he would rock the red jacket and we thought he was soo cool. I wonder if he still has it. My aunt and uncles all 9 of them made sure all twenty of me and my cousins knew about Micheal growing up. I still can't believe I'll never have the pleasure of seeing Micheal's show in person, I was hoping for one day.

@ Sharlinda: Was it the Thriller Album cover (or the picture may have been inside the album cover) poster...with the baby tiger? I absolutely loved that poster and had it over my bed.

My best friend and I choreographed our first talent show routine to Beat It (circa 1984). I think I was in second grade. We each had a "the glove" and that red jacket I BEGGED my mom for.

There's been nothing on TV but shows about him, his music. The difference is profound, I'm watching "keep on with the force" and compare then to now, it's two totallly different people!!

Still respect him musically.

I just wish he'd known what it felt like to be truely loved by another half. Had a real life, family and have someone to go home to at the end of the day who asked "baby, how was your day" and he replied "hard boo, they mobbed me and I missed you". Pity all the people round him were paid, not there just for him coz they loved him and would stick with him through thick and thin. Such a shame.

I used to LOVE MICHAEL JACKSON, my Mum still teases me about it!! She went to China for a Conference and brought me an MJ t-shirt, I wore that thing out!!!

No one could say a bad word against him, then I suppose I got older and other things took over!!!

I remember when my daughter was little and she saw Michael Jackson on TV and insisted he was a white girl. I explained who he was and showed her old pictures of him, she point blank refused that it could be him!! Baby-girl!!

I agree, DASH! Growing up as a kid in the 80's was the BEST!!! That's when real music and legendary artists were at their height.

I'm going to go attempt to Moonwalk now.....
