What are some of your favorites? Do you remember trying to moonwalk for the first time, dancing to his song at a school dance? What's your favorite MJ memory?

I think I was in seventh grade and I begged to get the baseball shirt style shirt that was out at the time and I "PYT" put on it in purple letters(Everyone else put the same thing on theirs!!!)

On the premiere of his "Thriller" video, I was set up as a vendor at LA Tech for a pre-Olympic small business show, and all of the vendors and visitors were all set up at the Radio Shack's booth, because they had the large video screen.

Tonya,

My brother had the glitter glove and MJ zipper jacket... all I had was a white purse with the cover picture of his thriller album. No one can top MJ, he made a difference in a lot of people lives.

I don't usually get caught up in celebrity lives or deaths, but MJ's death hit me hard. Michael Jackson's music seemed to be the soundtrack of my life as a teenager, and I have some wonderful memories of my teen years. I felt so sad this evening when I heard about the death - it was as though part of my history died too! Heck, when I first heard the news, I wanted to call my high school friends and the high school sweetheart to mourn his passing. I thought MJ was the cutest thing I had ever seen back in the Off the Wall days, before the surgeries and the skin bleaching!

I can't think of a MJ song that I didn't like (except maybe Dirty Diana), but Thriller and Off The Wall are the top of my list of favorites! I remember having an MJ poster in my room - my dad used to swear every time he saw it! Suffice it to say that Dad didn't think too much of MJ's look - to paraphrase a bit, Dad didn't think that MJ looked too manly.

I can't dance to save my life - so I left my half-assed attempts at moonwalking to the privacy of my bedroom! Only my MJ poster know just how bad my moonwalk was!

MJ's life became one sorry mess but his music was always great!

Michael Jackson holds a very special place in my heart.

When i was 12 I lost my brother He was just one month shy of turning 18. But before my brother died, Micheal was doing his US tour and he had a show in Gary Indiana. One of my brother's last wishes before he passed was to go see him in concert, so his mother took him and he got to fulfill one of his life wishes--to see Micheal in concert. This was in the late 80's when Bad was out. Along with having his family around him, my brother died happy having seen Michael in concert. Michael just touched so many people. Say what u want, but hands down Michael was the BEST performer EVER. Period.

My brother has Micheals Jackson's pointing feet (pic above) engraved on his headstone.
RIP

Oh when he did Billie Jean. can't no one do it like the brother! that album was on the charts for like three or so years. But here's my memory; I was in the Air Force stationed at Suwon AB, Korea, and there was a little area across the street called The Ville.you could go there get a drink, something to eat; you could get some real tasty hot chicken from there. Anyway, there was this little club there. And I'ma tell ya. They would have ladies up there dancing and such but anytime, they would play Michael Jackson, they would stop, push back the tables, the ladies would stop dancing and they would sit they butts down and watch a Michael Jackson video. Now we're talking a good 20 years before we heard of a Barack Obama or anything. This would blow me away. these folks gave much love to this man. Stop their stuff and watch him. You would have thought he was there in the midst. I know that folks in Korea is mourning his passing big time. I know this without even going there cause they loved and respected him.

One more thing. When I was a kid, my siblings and I LOVED Micheal Jackson. well, that's when he was with his brothers. And I kid you not, my eldest brother and sister, they would catch the train down from the Bronx to Madison Square Garden in midtown Manhattan, and see the concert EVERY year from the time they was about 11, 12. Oh, I loved their independence, their can do spirit. I loved it. They promised to take me and my brother, and my daddy decided to buy tickets for us all to see them at Madison Square Garden in 1973; I was ten then. I ran around that place, trying to wave at them guys. couldn't enjoy the show, but I never forgot. My dad and sister are gone now, but when I heard the news, I told my boyfriend he was straight out lying; he got mad. It hurt me. Like I lost a family member. I had to come online and see for myself, and then they were saying he was rushed to the hospital. That hurt me. when I found out, I was blown. still am. didn't feed my dog. didn't clean up. didn't do nothing but sit in front this computer. I watch the videos on YouTube. hope you do too. As long as he's remembered, his memory lives on. You know it is ironic that MJ died at 50. I felt he never experienced a childhood myself; my heart went out to him on that. I tend to feel he got to in time. RIP MJ.

Shoot, I remember when MTV wouldnt even show black videos; early 80s; so I am not surprised on them showing Triller late at night; I remember when they showed the movie and such of it.

Another memory was when "Thriller" 1st came out. Now for all the 25 & up folks, ya'll can remember when MTV would only show Thriller late at night. SO when it 1st came out, my mom & aunt let me & my cousin stay up to watch it. We made a big pallet on the floor in front of the tv, we fell asleep, but when it came on, my Aunt woke us up. Also Michael was my 1st crush in elementary school..lol. And i had DOZENS of posters of him on the wall as a kid. My cousin had the Thriller coat & i remember being jealous cuz I wanted one so bad!!!!!! LOL!
